Laveen Community Parade Coming Up!!!

LYFA will be marching in the 2012 Laveen Community Parade.  The Parade will begin at 11:00am but our check in is at 8:30am.  We won't know our order in the parade until then.  We will have a float, the football players will be doing their chants, and the cheerleaders will be doing cheers!

For the cheerleaders there will be a practice this Tuesday at 5:30pm at Trailside Park (Map).  We will be working with them for about an hour to go over marching in lines and doing their cheers while walking.  We'd love to have as many of our 2011 kids participate as possible!

LYFA is Proud to be a Charter Member of Junior Football of Arizona!

Laveen Youth Football Association is proud to be a Charter Member Association of Junior Football of Arizona (JFA). Along with associations from Cave Creek, Desert Highlands (Anthem), North Phoenix, West Valley, Dysart, Poston Butte, Desert West, South Mountain, & Casa Grande, we have proudly joined forces to form a Phoenix-based league that will promote the football interests of all players. JFA is in the process of evaluating prospective members from other leagues and organizations around the valley who share the common vision that youth football should be managed at the local level and focus on the needs of all teams and participants. While LYFA will continue its successful operations much like it has over the past 4 years by focusing on the growth and needs of Laveen-area football players and cheerleaders, our affiliation with JFA will enhance our efforts through things like:

  • A safer/smarter weight chart for tackle football that has an appropriate place for every player (no one will be turned away due to weight issues): Click this link to see the 2011 Weight Chart
  • Expansion of the Flag Program to 5 year olds (Flag is now for 5, 6 & 7 year olds only)
  • Pursuit of local and regional post-season opportunities for teams that want to continue playing
  • Spring Football (beginning in 2012)
  • Fewer league-mandated restrictions on team formation (allowing for local associations to form teams based on their individual needs)
  • and more

About Us

The Laveen Youth Football Association is a Kids First organization offering tackle and flag football and cheerleading in Laveen, Tolleson, and Southwest Phoenix.

Our borders have been expanded in 2011 to include all of 85339, 85041, 85048, 85353, and 85009 South of Buckeye.

The association began in 2007 providing a much-needed option for youth sports in Laveen.  In the last three seasons we have increased our player and cheerleader enrollment, increased the number of board members and increased the number of parents/volunteers.

In the 2011 season we became a charter member of the Junior Football of Arizona league and are again anticipating a great experience for all involved with even more families!

We look forward to many years of providing a positive sports experience for the families of Laveen, Tolleson, and Southwest Phoenix.
