Laveen Youth Football Association

Laveen Youth Football Association is proud to be a Charter Member Association of Junior Football of Arizona (JFA). Along with associations from Cave Creek, Desert Highlands (Anthem), North Phoenix, West Valley, Dysart, Poston Butte, Desert West, South Mountain, & Casa Grande, we have proudly joined forces to form a Phoenix-based league that will promote the football interests of all players. JFA is in the process of evaluating prospective members from other leagues and organizations around the valley who share the common vision that youth football should be managed at the local level and focus on the needs of all teams and participants. While LYFA will continue its successful operations much like it has over the past 4 years by focusing on the growth and needs of Laveen-area football players and cheerleaders, our affiliation with JFA will enhance our efforts through things like:

• A safer/smarter weight chart for tackle football that has an appropriate place for every player (no one will be turned away due to weight issues): Click this link to see the 2011 Weight Chart
• Expansion of the Flag Program to 5 year olds (Flag is now for 5, 6 & 7 year olds only)
• Pursuit of local and regional post-season opportunities for teams that want to continue playing
• Spring Football (beginning in 2012)
• Fewer league-mandated restrictions on team formation (allowing for local associations to form teams based on their individual needs)
